you ever think about how kirishima is like the only person that treats bakugo like an actual human being
i mean like… everyone else in bakugo’s life treats him as something else. as someone to look up to, or worse, to look down upon. people see him as someone to be scared of, as someone to avoid, as someone to be rescued. so many people either idolize bakugo or look down on him, and most people in his life fall into one of those two categories. to others, he’s either a ticking time bomb or the image of victory.
but kirishima just… sees him as an equal. as a human. he doesn’t scrutinize bakugo nor does he idolize him, and he’s like the first person to do that in a healthy way. he doesn’t treat bakugo like a villain, but he also doesn’t act like bakugo is perfect. and honestly, i think that’s why bakugo is such good friends with kirishima. he asserts himself in bakugo’s life as a friendly do-no-harm-take-no-shit bff, and the fact that someone can so effortlessly be bakugo’s friend helps bakugo so so much in terms of self-worth, too.
i don’t think it’s “bakugo sees kirishima as an equal,” but more of a “kirishima sees bakugo as an equal” that allows them to be such good friends.
